FRANK SAHWIT

About

Frank Sahwit is the first culprit the player meets in the first game. He poses as a newspaper salesman but actually steals from the homes of people while they're away. This is when Cindy Stone returns home, surprised, Frank murders her with a statue of "The Thinker". Frank then frames her boyfriend, Larry Butz, for the murder. Frank poses as a innocent bystander who found the corpse as he testifies against Larry. In actuality, Frank is rather short tempered and is angered when pressed. He later reappears in the second investigations game as a prisoner who grooms the therapy pets. One day he broke his electric shock bracelet, allowing him to move freely. The warden of the prison, Patricia Roland, learns this but instead decides to use this to her advantage and gives Frank special benefits if he turns off the power for her. This was so Patricia could smuggle goods in as she was being blackmailed by Sirhan Dogen. Frank later sees Sirhan Dogens dog, Anubis, "biting" the neck of Horace Knightley. Frank inspects his body after Anubis leaves to see if he can steal anything. He returns later and screams to make it seem like he just discovered his corpse.

Dev Notes

The birthmark on Franks forehead was given in order to show that the man in the beginning cutscene and the man who was testifying were the same person. He was added to Gyakuten Kenji 2 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the series, since longtime players would associate him with the series!

Admin Opinions

I think Frank is truly a underrated culprit and fits the series perfectly. As the first culprit we ever meet in the series, he had to make a good impression on the player in order for them to keep playing. In comparison to future villains crimes, he's not that special. But it's just the way he's presented that makes him such a good character and truly shows the Ace Attorney style. I was pleasantly surprised to see him again in AAI2, it felt like seeing a old evil friend.
