SHELLY DE KILLER

De Killer comes from a line of assassins and is the third heir to the name. He leaves his "calling card" behind at each of his assassinations to show his involvement to police so his clients aren't suspected. Matt Engarde, whom was the actor for childrens show "The Nickel Samurai", hired him to kill fellow actor Juan Corrida during the "Heroes of Heroes Grand Prix" event. Shelly was to strangle him in his sleep, and retrieve a teddybear which held a suicide note from Celeste Inpax and to put it in Engardes home. Adrian Andrews, Engardes manager, discovered the scene first. And took Shellys calling card which indirectly caused Engarde to become suspect. Learning this, Shelly sticks to his moral code and still helps Engarde by posing as his butler. Posing as a bellboy, he lures Maya Fey by telling her she has a phone call. He then kidnaps her and uses this as ransom against Engardes defense attorney, Phoenix Wright, to ensure he is found not guilty within one day. Maya is kept in the wine cellar of Engardes home. Shortly before the trial of Engarde, he shoots the prosecutor assign to the case, being Franziska von Karma in the shoulder. Miles Edgeworth takes over whilst she is in the hospital. During the trial, Phoenix attempts to accuse Adrian Andrews of the murder, but fails to fully prove his point. After the trial, Edgeworth demands to see the calling card Adrian has been holding, which is the calling card of de Killer. After the trial and Phoenix learning of who de Killer is, he goes to visit Engardes home. He meets his "butler", who uses the name "John Doe" who is feeding Engardes cat, Shoe. He fails to get any answers out of him as Doe claims he just needs to do his job as a butler. At around this similar time, Maya had temporarily broken out of the cellar and finds a photo of Celeste Inpax and tries to escape with one of Shellys cards, but is caught. While later investigating Corridas hotel room, Phoenix recieves another call from de Killer. He agrees to let Phoenix try again tomorrow at the trial, but is cut off by radio interference. Phoenix then learns one of the many bear gifts Corrida recieved had been bugged with a camera, which was placed by Engarde. Phoenix confronts him about this in the detention center, and then Engardes true personality is revealed. He tells that he recorded Corridas murder as a "insurance" against Shelly as a form of blackmail. After Phoenix leaves the detention center, he meets with Edgeworth and then recieves another call from de Killer. Shelly says that he is doing this as a part of his duty to protect his clients. He also tells Phoenix to not try and trace the call, but his location is given away by Engardes cat, Shoe, meowing in the background. Edgeworth immediately calls police to investigate Engardes mansion, but de Killer had already left with Maya. On the next day of Engardes trial, Phoenix stalls for time by going thru Will Powers and Adrian Andrews testimony. Meanwhile, Gumshoe and and a police team try to close in on de Killer. He managed to escape, but leaves behind his pistol, a video tape, his bellboy uniform, and one of his calling cards. He tries to retrieve the video tape, but fails and injuries three officers in the process. Gumshoe then takes the evidence and speeds to the district court. De Killer contacts Edgeworth telling him he'll testify, and says to him Engarde is indeed his client. But in court, he lies stating that Adrian Andrews is his client. However Phoenix pokes holes in this testimony by pointing out things like how de Killer thought Adrian was a man. Shelly cuts off communication with the court and the Judge is just about to render a not guilty verdict, but Franziska arrives immediately after with the evidence Gumshoe had taken. Being, a video tape. Phoenix calls de Killer again, and asks him if hes aware of what is on the tape. After learning that Engarde was going to blackmail him. He claims his contract with him is invalid as he tried to betray his trust. Shelly then says he'll return Maya, and that a terrible fate will await Engarde if he is let out of prison. After Farewell my Turnabout, Shelly calls Phoenix claiming that the case has made it hard for him to operate, and that hes leaving the country.
